Veneers are favorable over crowns in some instances due to the minimal shaping that needs to take place compared to the major reshaping required prior to installing a crown.

 

Porcelain Veneers are made from a thin tooth colored material and are placed on the front side of your tooth. Your dentist will take an impression of the area and then send it to a local dental laboratory where a technician will prepare the veneer to a precise fit. A small amount of enamel may need to be removed before the veneer is delivered.
